Terravest has funded and helped create several companies in the Lawrence area specializing in development, engineering, drywall, landscaping & lawn services, painting, plumbing and project management. The main focus however, remains on custom home construction and remodeling,
Terravest has developed and built subdivisions both inside and outside the City of Lawrence, Kansas with many of its projects being theme driven. Terravest has met the challenges of creativity with Craftsman Bungalows, Prairie/Frank Lloyd Wright Styled Homes and Southwest Influenced Home Styles. Creations include small cottages to large homes with personal movie theaters, hidden rooms, dumb waiters and waterfalls. The most recent project being Cotswold styled architecture within the prestigious Fritzel/Stewart development of Fall Creek Farms.
Terravest Custom Homes, LLC is fully insured and licensed within the City of Lawrence and has been a long term member of the Lawrence Home Builders’ Association with memberships and reviews by Service Magic Pros, Home Advisor and Angie’s List.
Terravest leadership is guided by J. Stewart who has a passion for community involvement and projects related to the local construction industry. He has served on several local community service boards throughout the growth of the Lawrence area for more than twenty years. With our Nation’s past and continuing economic difficulties Terravest has kept a pulse on the direction of growth in Lawrence, Kansas and Douglas County area. J. Stewart has served on the board of Douglas County Development Inc. since its creation by the Lawrence Business Community and in relation to this board he acts as the Chairperson for the Board of Trustees of the city/county sponsored East Hills Business Park. He has served as a board member on a local bank and for 12 years as a Chairman and board member of the Douglas County Board of Zoning Appeals. He has also served on the advisory board of the Douglas County Community Corrections and led the efforts for fund raising and construction of an addition to the Club House for the Fraternal Order of Police.
